Background :
It will be directed by Jon Avnet. The film is being written by Russell Gewirtz who previously scripted Inside Man and will be produced by Avi Lerner, Daniel Rosenberg (who Executive Produced and developed "Inside Man" with Gewirtz), Boaz Davidson, Lati Grobman and Randall Emmett. The plot will revolve around police investigators hunting a vigilante killer. Righteous Kill will have a budget of $60 million and be an independent production put together by Nu Image's Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla Films. The film is set to begin shooting August 2007 in New York and Bridgeport, Norwalk, Stamford and New Haven, Connecticut. It was announced that Brian Dennehy will also appear in the film, as well as Frank John Hughes (Band of Brothers), John Leguizamo, Dan Futterman, Trilby Glover, professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek, and Terry Serpico (Rescue Me).
